Dear Freeport Good Works donor, supporter, and volunteer.
As you may know, Freeport Good Works has been organizing and executing Freeport Homecoming since 2011. Freeport Homecoming and our Halloween and Santa events throughout the year are made possible by our generous sponsors and volunteers in the community. We will continue to ask for your support for many years to come.
As we have been assessing our plans for Freeport Homecoming 2020 and keeping track of developments regarding the COVID-19 virus, we have made the unfortunate but necessary decision to cancel Freeport Homecoming 2020. We are a small group with limited resources and to put into motion both the planning and financial commitments to an event that we are not even sure we will be able to have would not be in the best interest of the FGW volunteers, supporters, and the community of Freeport.
We are still planning on our Halloween and Christmas events this year and a return to Freeport Homecoming in 2021. All of us at FGW hope that each of you remain safe and healthy through these tough times.
Freeport Homecoming
Mark your calendar for July 27th to kick back and relax with your family and friends at Freeport Homecoming.
For well over 100 years the Village of Freeport Michigan has had some form of community celebration. This photo is from 1914 just under 40 years from when Freeport was first plotted in 1875.
Today, this community celebration, which has been previously called Freeport Fun Day, is going back to its heritage. 104 years after the celebration took place in the 1914 photo, the 2012 celebration returned to being called Freeport Homecoming.
